A Word from our Founder.......
Many of us have family members who have life threatening food, medication and latex allergies. Often times these are accompanies by asthma, eosinophilic diseases, celiac disease or gluten concerns. Unfortunately some have so many allergies they live in a constant state of alert, always on watch to protect the fragility of life. We have an opportunity to lead normal lives like others with caution thanks to awareness efforts. We want others to understand that compassion is a necessary component to making that happen and it is our mission to help others see what they can to do to help us raise compassionate awareness as we show compassion for each other.
We do realize, however that sometimes, no matter how cautious we are there are times situations when sometimes things simply happen. We do not see blame at Compassion 4 Anaphylaxis™ but instead we grieve for those lost and lend support to the survivors of those left here to mourn. When there is a loss in our community it is our mission to help those who want to support families stick together to do so as respectfully as possible.
As a parent of a food allergic, it is a journey like no other and a fight we all fight in our own unique ways. To famlies who have been affected by loss it is my personal mission to make sure we do what we can to keep their memory alive as we strive to raise awareness. You will never forget and I want make sure the impact of your loved one on the world is kept alive as we honor their memory.
One community, one love, one compassionate stand.
Sincerely,
Aleasa M. Word, CLC, CEIC
