FAMSOD a sister partner, was founded as the food allergic multicultural society of Delaware. The support group was founded in 2010. After much consideration it evolved into a grassroots support group advocating, educating and raising awareness to how cultural norms can have a great impact on exclusion of food allergics. Through this online effort Ms. Word works with families nationwide to help them bridge the gaps between themselves, caregivers and cultural communities to wipe out exclusion.
Quarterly meetings via anymeeting.com are meant to encourage people to gather to find ways of dealing with the journey food allergics must face. Family dynamics including shared parenting, differing parenting styles, LGBT family dynanics, bi-racial concerns and traditional food festivities pose an opportunity for growth and learning we can help with.
